Yes, we have had some great success doing so during the last couple of years supporting people in countries such as China, Afghanistan, Iran, Lebanon, Russia, Czech Republic, Egypt, and Sierra Leone. After we started supporting Yinhua in China, his work led to more than a 400% increase in sales of books by Marshall Rosenberg*. We have also given support or coaching for Arabic, Persian, Italian, Spanish, often via Skype and Facebook. How we ensure we reach the goals: · We are tracking 40 more languages, identifying what has been translated, what is available online, who is involved and contactable and making this information available here: http://nvc4all.weebly.com/nvc-in-your-country-or-language.html · The aim is that anyone living or travelling to any country can find out what is already happening, and avoid duplication. · We follow up and support next steps. · For some communities (such as Arabic and Spanish speakers) we are helping people in different countries share resources (more networking!) . We are also looking at organising leadership and project support programmes where it's easier for all nationalities to get a visa eg. Turkey. |
What we do with the funds
Immediate priorities are Spanish and Farsi and Arabic and tracking another 40 languages (see our "NVC in your country or language" page.) We need the money to pay for core team time until July 2015 - everything else is much easier to fundraise for in a range of ways - grants, gifts, in kind donations, trainer fees etc. More volunteers are also very welcome! (eg coaches, empathisers, artists, secretarial) Getting funding for this campaign will enable the existing team to focus time towards this project. It will also enable the team to support these countries in setting up and financially supporting their own projects, which the team has the skills to do - where we need your help is in support for us! What you can do
This is your chance to support really practical peacemaking by helping people who are pioneering Nonviolent Communication* projects right now, sometimes in really difficult circumstances, for example Noor in Afghanistan, Tanya in Lebanon and others in the Spanish-speaking world . You can donate money, or you can help by:
Contact to get involved:
..... or to get more info on how money will be used in detail, please contact us via www.NVC4all.com - or please send contact info and your time zone by text message to +44 77654 77305. Who is the team?
Ray Taylor (UK/Slovakia): project initiator. Ray has been working for years now to bring this campaign to life, and wants to focus on this rather than his own training work. His role within the team is to connect people together and support in funding and continue painting the vision of this campaign, and to do some of the coaching work and recruit others into the team. He has helped NVC grow in Czech, Slovak, China, Russia, Sierra Leone, Facebook, Skype and will put more details on www.NVC4all.com Marwa Farouq (Egypt/Turkey): Marwa joined the team to get engaged with the NVC global community and contribute to the goal of this project; bring NVC to every country and in every major language. Her role will mainly be to update the project community about the progress and achievements taking place as well as connect those in different countries with the NVC resources they need. She has completed the BayNVC parent leadership programme and worked as a Presidential Adviser in Egypt and now shares NVC with refugees in Turkey. Chuck Powers (USA): Chuck is excited about really contributing world peace, and this seems genuine and can really help. He is a registered US accountant and will ensure financial correctness and that what is said is what is done. We are also very grateful for work from many others. |
