Vision

a network reaching every country that encourages and inspires and supports, with an understanding of the joy and practical usefulness of empathy and connection with vulnerability and authenticity (thanks Marwa!)

and exchange of practical communication, empathy, project and change skills

and a thousand flowers blooming :-)

Mission

to support people to make Nonviolent Communication more available in more languages, more countries, more sectors, more media, and more forms

(especially for those who can't get to workshops regularly)

especially supporting networker builders, creatives and project developers and leaders

Aims and activities:

a. We help create online, Skype and telephone practice groups

b. We support NVC networkers

c. We support NVC training (currently in Africa, Iran and China)

d. We help make more NVC resources visible online
(current focus: Chinese, Farsi, Arabic and Spanish)

What needs are we meeting?

1. Access to training for those who can't easily get to workshops

2. Access to support for creatives, networkers and trainers who want to build neyworks in their language and country.

3. Access to NVC study materials for those who don't speak English, German, Dutch and French.

At the moment, there is a lot of NVC material, social networking and training available in English, German, French and Dutch, but, despite some excellent translations, little in other languages.

We want to change this, as well as support interaction with the French, German and Dutch networks.

We are starting with a focus on  materials for beginners and trainers in Chinese, Farsi, Arabic and Spanish.

NB We are very happy to help trainers, network builders and others who speak other languages. Please contact us!

Arabic
The current priority is to make more NVC resources visible online. If you can read and type in Arabic - please contact us!

Spanish
The current priority with Spanish is to support work in South America by making more NVC resources visible online in Castillian Spanish.

Farsi
The situation in Iran is rather difficult - please contact us if you would like to help.

Chinese
The network in China is reaching the point of take off. Since we started supporting them, they have launched in Chinese social media and the equivalent of Skype/Maestro. You can contact them directly via Yinhua Ruan's blog, or via "Nonviolent Communication Shanghai" on Facebook.

Core team:

Ray Taylor (UK/Slovakia): project initiator. Ray has been working for years now to bring this campaign to life, and wants to focus on this rather than his own training work. His role within the team is to connect people together and support in funding and continue painting the vision of this campaign, and to do some of the coaching work and recruit others into the team.

Marwa Farouq (Egypt/Turkey): Marwa joined the team in an attempt to get engaged with the NVC global community and contribute to the goal of this project; bring NVC to every country and in every major language. Her role will mainly be to update the project community about the progress and achievements taking place as well as connect those in different countries with the NVC resources they need.

Chuck Powers (USA): is a registered US accountant and will ensure financial correctness and that what is said is what is done.

Helpers and supporters:

We are also very grateful for work from Birgit Schulze, Martine Verhoeff, Erik Willikens, Judy Saruhan, Ana Fernandez, Yinha Ruan, Duke Duchscherer, Noor Navayee

and support from Stella Alexandrian, Alex Patricia Costa Diaz, Irmtraud Kauschat, Dominic Barter, Bob Wentworth, Stefan Wisbauer, Neill Gibson, Torsten Hardiess, Miki Kashtan, Farah Baut-Carlier, Gina Lawrie and many others.

NB many many people and organisations are involved in spreading NVC worldwide, both with us and completely independently - our specific contribution is to track underserved groups and languages, and to help identify who can be contacted for which languages, and to offer project and network development coaching.

As far as possible we

  1.  seek to support others' work rather than our own workshops
  2.  work with a special focus on reaching out to under-served languages and  groups (eg busy low income single parents in rural villages who can't get to workshops, for whom we created "NVC parents" on Facebook)
  3. work tactically and strategically, ie. giving a amount of support that can make the most difference - this worked really well when we supported Yinhua Ruan in China with just a little coaching: he then did all the real work and this led to an explosion in NVC activity online, workshops and a fourfold increase in book sales. It was similar with Tanya in Beirut and on satellite TV (see first clip above).

Who we are:

Picture
"NVC networkers" is a group consisting of people who are one of the following:

  • the only active trainer in a particular country or language
  • people who are heavily involved in helping NVC networks to grow, in ways other than offering training
  • people who support NVC growth other than by offering workshops (eg people who help others with marketing and sharing NVC in several regions)
  • people who develop active online and regional NVC networks and communities

Yinhua Ruan is an NVC network builder in China.

Neill Gibson is our contact at Puddledancer Press.

Tanya Awad Ghorra is our main Arabic contact.

Hugo di Dio and Ana Fernandes Frank our main Spanish-speaking contact and we network in this roup: www.facebook.com/groups/mascnv

We are working with the anyone interested in NVC in Iran, to try to make sure that there are equal resources in Farsi and Arabic.

Jack Lehman, certified trainer is helping with NVC coaching.

Marwa Farouk and Chuck Powers and Birgit Imbild are core team.

Among contacts in Turkey are Vivet Alevi and Judy Saruhan:

Testimonial from Africa

This is a very big thank you to you for your time, effort,
contribution and concern to see me grow to the top of the NVC sharing
world. Your teaching me and helping me to connect to wider and
advanced NVC groups, technical pieces of advice and empathy have
brought me to the stage of feeling more enthusiastically willing and
ready to work. I am very much inspired by the gesture of your support.
I promise to use my knowledge and support wisely for NVC Liberia.

Warmly,

AD

What we do:

We support people who .....

  • are inspired by NVC
  • are isolated in some way
  • are already creating a project or network or resources for others
  • have made a start but aren't sure what to do next
We already .....

  • put pioneers in contact with coaches and helpers of other kinds
  • link them to support and training or help set it up
  • help them create materials and resources in their language(s)
  • create networking groups and more
With the help of volunteers we ......

(dear reader, maybe you too will become one too!?) we ....

  • support pioneers to integrate NVC and experience it more deeply
  • offer coaching and empathy
  • provide technical help with Facebook, Skype, Fuze etc
  • encourage innovative approaches to NVC  (eg.) embodied and physical approaches, or using inspiration from the form of Confucian analects
(so "a thousand flowers blooming" rather than repeating the same models).
